we walked down to the Nickelodeon on Wednesday night to watch 28 Days Later with the new ending and all, it was NOT scary, just bleaker. it worked, i liked the first ending cuz it seemed to have more closure to it even tho it was kinda left open, i guess cuz it was left open in a more optimistic way. they're both good tho, and i still urge everyone to see it. don't think of it as a zombie movie. think of it as a fucking cinematic masterpiece. don't let the zombies drive you away, the acting, direction, cinematography, story, EVERYTHING is just brilliant. take it from me, your friendly neighborhood media cynic. AND STOP THINKING OF FUCKING RESIDENT EVIL PEOPLE. JUST BECAUSE 2 MOVIES HAVE ZOMBIES IN THEM DOES NOT MAKE THEM THE SAME. you don't sit there slackjawed and say something retarded about Night of the Living Dead whenever someone mentions Resident Evil so stop mentioning RE when people talk about 28DL. and for fucks sake go see it. its $6 per ticket at Nickelodeon, if you can get there you have no excuse.
in other movie ramblings, we watched The Beach the same night, you know, the movie that Leo Dicaprio starred in right after Titanic, and since its target demographic is obviously NOT 13 year old squealing females, more or less ruined his career? it was written by the same guy who wrote 28DL but the director was different so it just wasnt as good, still fun tho, from the trailers they showed when it first came out theres no way to tell what its really about but its quite interesting, i'd love to read the book. (i think there's a book.) so if you have a few spare hours that might be worth watching too. i also rented a few dvds the other day to keep me occupied in my limited time off from work this weekend (yeah, i only have to work 3 hours a day, screw you, its the most convenient block of time to see people, not that i do, and i'm dead tired when i get home anyway). i only watched one cuz it was a new release that had to go back today, it was called May, about a chick with a lazy eye, no friends except her dolls, who works in a vet's office sewing up animals and she makes her own clothes and dolls...oh, and she only notices the pretty parts of peopls and believes there are no beautiful wholes...so the neck of her coworker, the hands of her sort-of boyfriend, etc....you can probly see where that goes. not the best but very interesting, the scenes by themselves seem needlessly violent and shit but if you watch the whole thing its all significant. i also rented Soylent Green and Cecil B Demented, i'll watch one of those tomorrow i guess, or maybe both, probly one before work and one after.

does anyone know where i could find a pirate flag, something kinda like those retarded american flags people fly from their cars? i decided to pirate-theme my car but i don't know where to get more piratey stuff. i'll find some stickers and whatnot, it'd probly be easier just to make seat covers myself somehow, maybe i could take black cloth and bleach skull and crossbones on it, which come to think of it is a pretty kickass idea and would look way piratey....maybe somehow make my steering wheel look like a ships wheel but that might be taking it too far and also impossible (or at least very expensive). wonder if i could find a small stuffed parrot to put on the "shoulders" of one of the front seats, that'd be cute, i'll try Grand City for that i guess. so any suggestions for pirating out my car are welcome, maybe when i have some spare money and my car is sufficiently piratey i'll get vanity plates that say "ARRR" or something. :) pirates rule man. (i still haven't seen Pirates of the Caribbean btw, i don't know why >:)
